Hello, this is hiroko.
Today I would like to introduce "Hanabiramochi".
Japanese sweets to eat on New Year's Day.
目次(table of contents)
(What is “Hanabiramochi” ?)
It comes from "Hishi-Hanabiramochi", which can be eaten on New Year's Day in the palace, and is a sweet alternative to ozoni. It is also sold at various Japanese sweets shops. It seems that the people in the palace were made so that they could eat while standing while they were busy during the New Year.
Pink rice cakes are layered on top of soft white rice cakes, and burdock cooked sweetly and bean paste with white bean paste and miso are included. It is exactly the contents of ozoni.
お味(Taste)
This year, I ate something from "Sentaro" in Kyoto.
Inside the white rice cakes that look like plums and cherry blossoms, instead of pink rice cakes, there are cooked carrots, burdock root, and miso paste.
It was very delicious with plenty of bean paste made from Jiuqu miso. And more, the decoration was accompanied by pink cherry sugar confectionery, and it looked very beautiful and I was very satisfied.
(Summary)
